OUR STORY
Bringing forward Indigenous Practices
We are an allied group of farmers, land stewards and freedom fighters. We are a union of ethnicities fighting for equity in our food system. We are co-creating a non-profit community farm that will offer fresh and wholesome vegetables to low-income communities via subsidized benefits.
Community is and will be the cornerstone of our growth. We will offer farming and land stewardship education opportunities for youth and all ages via internships, workshops, and volunteer days for day to day operations.
We are in alignment with the core principles of land stewardship found in many indigenous communities worldwide - respect and gratitude for nature and love for all beings.
We are committed to reversing the act and effects of colonialism and dismantling the artificial construct of color. Instead, we aim to acknowledge and celebrate people through their ethnicities, lineages and relationship with land and each other.
Ours is a path of healing and nourishment. Our intention is to grow food and medicine that's culturally appropriate, nutritionally dense, and that can be supported in our climate zone; giving priority to seeds with ancient lineage; crafting learning experiences that nourish the heart, mind and spirit.

ABOUT MAMA FARM
Our philosophy is to rematriate seed and the interrelationship between people and the land.
We value the preservation of life and will carry out our values by applying passive, sustainable and regenerative practices to conserve and generate resources naturally.
With focus on diversity within our soils and within our communities.
We believe in cooperation over competition amongst our peers, conservation over waste, and collective action towards common good.
To dismantle the influences and effects of colonization and supremacy over sovereignty worldwide and its depreciation of our resources and relationship to each other and the earth.
To be with the Earth in a way that can harmoniously sustain the generations to come without extracting, abusing, monopolizing, or outcompeting.
